This left him a boy of 7 to be cared for by an aunt and an uncle until 1848, when he returned to Pa.On Oct. 13th, 1852 he was married to Caroline NICKEL of Fayette, Co., whose sweet, loving companionship he was permitted to enjoy for 52 years, when she passed away Oct. 17th, 1904. To this union were born 13 children 12 of whom survive their parents. For about 25 years Mr. Binns conducted a mercantile business in Pennsylvania. In 1876 he came to Michigan and purchased the farm where he lived until one year ago. On Oct 3rd 1904 he was stricken with paralysis and continued an invalid until his death.By birth and training Daniel BINNS was a Friend or Quaker. Coming into a clearer Christian experience he united with the Methodist Chuch in 1857 and immediately began active work in the church which continued for more than 40 years. Though busy with the cares of a business and a large fmily during all of this time he was a local preacher in both Pennsylvania and Michigan and often preached continuously for several months during the illness of the regular pastor. He was also Sunday school superintendent during much of this period. The survivindg children scattered in Michigan, Pennsylvania and California will always cherish the memory of a sweet christian home where the stranger was always welcome and the friend received God's blessing. The funeral was held from the Methodist church, Wednesday, Jan. 9, conducted by the pastor G. A. Fee, assisted by Rev. C. W. Baldwin of Detroit, a former pastor. We wish to extend our deepest thanks to our many friends of Addison and vicinity for their kind services to us during the illness and death of a beloved father.
